Biography
Born into a family of musicians. His mother - cellist Natalia Gutman , grandmother - pianist, graduate of the Moscow Conservatory in the department of Heinrich Neuhaus , Mira Yakovlevna Gutman, great-grandfather - violinist Anisim Berlin , great-grandmother - L. Burakin, a student of Joseph Joachim [1] .
From 5 years old Svyatoslav studied violin. His mentor was Oleg Kagan . Sviatoslav joined him at the Moscow Conservatory in violin class in 1984. After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory, he continued his studies at the Paris Conservatory at Gerard Poulet .
Creative contacts
He played with Svyatoslav Richter , Oleg Kagan and Mstislav Rostropovich . He continues active concert activities in collaboration with Claudio Abbado , Yuri Bashmet , Boris Berezovsky , Eliso Virsaladze , Natalia Gutman, Viktor Tretyakov, and others.
He taught in Russia (Moscow) and in Germany. Since 2000 , he has been teaching in the USA and is the artistic director of the International Music Festival “Classics in the Mountains” (“Classic on the Mountains”) (Mohonk, New York, USA). In 2005, he founded the eclectic group In Pravda in Woodstock, which has been widely known in Europe and the USA for 10 years, as a group of musicians with an extraordinary vision of classical works. And in 2012 he became the head of the multi-format music and art festival "From Baroque to Rock"
