He studied at the Basel Conservatory , including Herman Zoeter , then in Geneva with Emil Jacques-Dalcroze and organist William Montillier, and finally in Paris with Ernst Levy . Since 1925 he lived and worked in Geneva. In addition to his career as an organist, he taught first at the Jacques-Dalcroze Institute, then at the Geneva Conservatory ( harmony course). He was friendly with Frank Martin , dedicated to his memory “Ten Preludes in Memory of a Lost Friend” ( Fr. Dix Préludes “A la mémoire d'un ami disparu” ; 1975 ).
The author of two symphonies, three suites for a chamber orchestra, a number of instrumental concerts - including an alto ( 1956 ), written for the son of composer Daniel Reishel, a violinist and viola player (and later a conductor who recorded a number of compositions by his father). In addition, Reischel owns numerous church music, music for the theater, songs on poems by Goethe , Novalis , Merique , Lenau , Teofil Gauthier , Victor Hugo , Emil Verharn and others.
In 1971 , Reischel was awarded the Geneva City Prize.
