The Slovenian-Russian dictionary is one of the first scientific works in Russian, which uses the Slovene language name that is close to the modern one. Prior to that, the term "Horutan language" was used - according to the name of the ancient tribe Horutan , the ancestors of the Slovenes , and Franz Miklosic - "the newborn language" [1] .
It was written by Martin Khostnik . It was published in the same volume as the Grammar of the Slovenian language , which was awarded the prize of Count D. A.
