Biography
Born on December 20, 1920 in the town of Askera (now Beshenkovichi district , Vitebsk region , Belarus ) in the family of the blacksmith Zalman and Ziva Gutkovich. He graduated from a rural school. He studied at the theater studio of the Bolshoi Drama Theater in Leningrad, then at the Leningrad Theater Institute , at the directing department (1939).
Member of World War II [1] . For military merits, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, the Order of the Red Star and medals. After the war, he studied at the Belarusian Theater Institute (Minsk), worked as an actor in the Y. Kolas Theater in Vitebsk .
He died on September 9, 1989 . He was buried in Minsk at the Northern Cemetery [2] .
