Biography
Born in Moscow, in the family of an art casting teacher at the Moscow Architectural Institute, Pavel Ivanovich Mikhailov. In 1922 , after the death of his father and the death of his mother, he ended up in the 13th model orphanage in Ipatievsky Lane . Participated in fistfights "wall to wall", held at the Dorogomilovsky outpost [2] .
Sports career
He started boxing in 1925 in the section in the Higher Art School with A. F. Goethe , who remained his only coach. He performed in light heavyweight (72.5–79.5 kg). He is the owner of the fastest knockout victory in the world (1934, knockout at the 14th second of the match Mikhailov (USSR) - Fietko (Czechoslovakia)).
The first major successes were achieved in 1928 : the champion of Moscow and the finalist of the All-Union Olympics (lost to the representative of Finland Berlund). USSR champion in light heavyweight 1933-1939 (in 1927-1932 USSR championships were not held), the absolute champion of the USSR in 1939.
On August 12, 1942 , having won his last fight with K. Birk (demonstrative fight), he ended his sports career.
Total spent 120 fights, scored 108 victories in them. Of the 8 boxers who lost, 5 took revenge.

In the national team of the USSR in 1927-1937, he performed 5 times in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Czechoslovakia. Winner of the World Workers Olympiad 1937 .

The reason for the match was the challenge sent by the applicant to the All-Union Sports Committee. In 1936, Korolev won (weight - 87 kg), in 1937, the battle was stopped because of a strong cut from V. Mikhailov (victory was awarded to N. Korolev), in 1939 - Mikhailov won the points in a tense struggle (weight - 78 kg). In 1940, Korolev sent a call, Mikhailov agreed, but expressed his wish that more boxers would take part in the competition, but the sports committee considered it inappropriate - as a result, the match did not take place.

Great Patriotic War
Mikhailov - participant of the Great Patriotic War . He served in OMSBOND , then he was appointed aide-chauffeur to a member of the military council of General KF Telegin . Fought at Moscow, on the Don front and at Stalingrad . In October 1941, as a result of an air attack, he was wounded, but soon returned to service. In 1942, he was seriously wounded for the second time (a severe concussion with a cranial injury) - as a result, he was discharged from the Red Army .
After rehabilitation, he was sent to Moscow as deputy head of the garage of the Moscow Military District. In 1945-1947 he was the head of the Dynamo football team (Moscow) .
Coaching and teaching activities
C 1945 - on coaching work. He was the coach of the USSR national team at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 and in Melbourne in 1956.
