Description
The church is made of red brick, located on the street on November 18, 66 (formerly Shosseinaya, Sarkanarmiyas). It was built in 1892 - 1893 . Consecrated October 10/22, 1893. It is located on the New Building on Church Hill, where there are churches of four Christian denominations (Lutheran, Orthodox, Old Believers, Catholic). The architect of the cathedral is Wilhelm Neumann (1849-1919). The church was built in the Neo - Gothic style. In a photograph of 1912, Prokudin-Gorsky shows a clock in the church tower.
History
The church suffered in 1941 - the tower spire burned down. The tower itself was damaged. It was restored in 1941-1943, but the spire was made in a very shortened form. After the war, the clock from the tower was scrapped. The Lutheran parish was not large, in the post-war period there was a warehouse in the church, then a boxing school was organized, the hall was rebuilt, and a second floor arose. In 1987, a severe fire broke out. The tower and the roof burned down. In December 1991, the church was handed over to the community of believers, the slow restoration of the church began, the city helped in the revival of the church. In the early 90s, the spire of the church of the first-height (52 meters) was restored, but it was no longer made of copper and had no artistic patterns, as it was before the fire in 1941. The tower has bells located at a level of about 20-21 meters. These days, their ringing can be heard during the service.
