He studied at Mannes College with Adolfo Betty , then also studied with Ivan Galamyan and Adolf Bush . In 1946, he won the prestigious American Leventritt Competition , whose jury included, in particular, Arturo Toscanini and George Sell . In 1966-1970 - the first accompanist of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra . The 1973 recording of Nadien’s concert (with pianist Samuel Sanders ) has recently been reprinted and has been praised by critics. [1] Regarding another entry by Nadien, a modern observer notes:

He has rich sensuality (and at the same time his taste never changes), and the trembling, human tone and portamento wealth have more in common with the first half of the past century than with the second [2] .

Records of the concerts of Beethoven , Mendelssohn , Tchaikovsky performed by Nadien were also republished.
