Naqshbandiya uvaysiya - Sufi tariqa common in Pakistan , a branch of the Naqshbandiâ tariqah founded by Bakhautdin Naqshband (died 1389 ) in Central Asia.
The followers of this tariqah believe that it appeared in India along with the main branch of the nakshbandiya-mujaddidiya , founded in the 17th century by the followers of Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (1556-1606), who continued the Ahrarian nakshbandiya tradition.
A characteristic feature of the tariqa are: quiet (hafi, kalbi) zikr , the method of spiritual connection ( nisbat ) uwaisi, that is, without the physical presence of the sheikh , the notion that the oath of fidelity (beyat) when entering the tariqa is brought directly to the prophet Muhammad (ruhani beyat) . The followers of the Naqshbandi-Uvishiya Tarikat belong to the branch of Islam called Deobandi , which is characterized by strict adherence to the Shari'ah prescriptions and a critical attitude to the innovations of bidah .
The modern history of the tariqa is connected with the activities of Sheikh Allah Yar Khan ( 1904 - 1984 ), who was a famous faqih of his time.
Allah Yar Khan's spiritual mentor was Sheikh Abdur Raheem, he is also believed to have established spiritual contact with the famous 16th century Indian sheikh Alla ad-Din Madni . He is the author of works on Islamic law and Sufism.
Currently, the sheikh of the Tariqa is Muhammad Akram Awan (b. 1934). He is the author of tafsir and a number of works on practical sufism, collections of poetry.
