Efimov, Andrei Mikhailovich

Born in 1960 in the village of Kurmanka, Sverdlovsk region . As a child, having seen a puppet show, he began to create dolls himself. In 1980, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Theater School with a degree in Puppet Theater Actor, and from that same year has been working as a puppeteer at the Yekaterinburg Puppet Theater .

In 1985, Efimov staged his first performance, “The Steadfast Tin Soldier.”

In 1991, he left the Puppet Theater and created his own puppet theater "Illusion". Efimov managed to carry out the first authorial production only in 1994 . For the play “Lights of a Forgotten Tavern”, he and his wife created 70 original dolls. The performance was shown at the S. Obraztsov Theater , received a special prize at the Perm Festival of Private Theaters, several prizes at the International Festival in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), at the festival in Varna (nomination "Best Puppet Master"). Later, this performance was included in the repertoire of the Puppet Theater under the name "Illusion".

In 1996, Efimov returned to the Yekaterinburg Puppet Theater.

In 1997, Andrei Efimov received the Golden Mask National Theater Award for the performance “Pictures from the Exhibition” (nomination for “The Best Work by a Puppet Theater Artist”). Also for this performance Efimov was awarded the Prize of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region "For outstanding achievements in the field of literature and art" and the prize of the Regional Competition of the Yekaterinburg branch of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation "The best theater work of the year" in the nomination "The best work of a production designer."

One of the most striking works of Efimov-actor - Hamlet in the play "THE HAMLET (Eng. - Village)" directed by A. Borok ( 2003 ). His hero, incomprehensible, clumsy, nervous, subtle and infinitely lonely, determined the success of the whole performance. “THE HAMLET”, like “Pictures from the exhibition”, like many other performances by Efimov, are considered the hallmark of the Yekaterinburg Puppet Theater.

• 2003 - prize of the IX BIG URAL Puppet Theater Festival in the nomination "Best Actor" for the role of Hamlet in the play "The Hamlet"
• 2003 - Prize of the Sverdlovsk Regional Competition-Festival "Bravo!" In the nomination "Best Role in the Puppet Theater" for the role of Hamlet in the play "The Hamlet"
• 2006 - Prize of the III International Festival of Puppet Theaters "PETRUSHKA GREAT" in the nomination "The best work of the artist" for the play "Bobok"
• 2006 - Awarding the title “DESERTED DESIGNER OF RUSSIA”
• 2006 - Prize of the Sverdlovsk Regional Competition-Festival "Bravo!" In the nomination "The best work of a director in a puppet theater" for the performance "Bobok"

• 2019 - prize of the festival “Siberia. Terra Magika ”(Krasnoyarsk) for the best work of the artist, performance of the Chelyabinsk Puppet Theater“ Children's Album ”.
