Octavius Ivanovich Radoshkovsky ( Polish Oktawiusz Wincenty Bourmeister-Radoszkowski , August 7 [19], 1820 - May 1 [13], 1895 ) is a Polish and Russian entomologist , specialist in stinging insects Hymenoptera . President of the Russian Entomological Society (1867-1879), general of equestrian artillery.

Biography
Born on August 7, 1820 in Lomza . In 1837, after graduating from a gymnasium in Warsaw, he entered the artillery officer school in St. Petersburg, which he graduated with honors.
A major specialist in wasps ( Mutillidae , digging wasps , Chrysididae spangles ), who described many new for science species of stinging hymenoptera ( Aculeata , Hymenoptera ). His Hymenoptera collections are kept at the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Jagiellonian University and the Zoological Museum of Moscow University . In 1867-1879 he was elected President of the Russian Entomological Society , and was also a general in equestrian artillery. In 1879, for health reasons, resigned as lieutenant general.
He died on May 1, 1895 in St. Petersburg .
