Hapoel Jerusalem (Reds) is an Israeli professional men's basketball club from Jerusalem . Two- time Israeli basketball champion of the seasons 2014/2015, 2016/2017 [1] . Winner ULEB Cup 2004.

History
The early decades
Hapoel Basketball Club Jerusalem was founded in 1943. First participated in the Premier League in 1955. In the 1950s and 1960s, he played in the first division, having notable players such as David Kaminsky and Amir Berlin. In the next two decades, there were both ups and downs. Hapoel constantly moved between the first and second divisions.
In 1986, a team led by coach Simi Rieger, after five consecutive years in the second division, entered the Premier League . Since then, Hapoel no longer left the Premier League and began to play a prominent role in Israeli basketball.
1990s
In 1996 and 1997, Hapoel won the country's cup , defeating the Tel Aviv-based Maccabi in the final. The team played led by Adi Gordon, considered the team’s symbol and one of his best players.
2000s
In 2004, Hapoel Jerusalem won their first European title, the ULEB Cup , defeating Real Madrid in the final in Charleroi , Belgium .
In 2005, the Israeli-Russian billionaire Arkady Gaydamak acquired a large stake in the club. As a result, four American players joined the club, including Roger Mason and Mario Austin. Also, an Israeli star came to the team - Meir Tapiro.
In 2007, Hapoel won its third cup by defeating Bnei Hasharon 103–85 at Nokia Arena.
In early 2008, Hapoel won its fourth cup, defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv 93-89. At the end of 2008, Hapoel won its first League Cup by defeating Ironi Nahariya.
In September 2009, oil tycoon Guma Aguiar joined Hapoel Jerusalem as a team sponsor and helped pay off the debts left by Gaydamak. In 2009, Hapoel defeated Tel Aviv's Maccabi in the League Cup final, winning it for the second time in a row.
A year after the mysterious disappearance of Guma Aguiar, a new property group led by entrepreneur Uri Alon took control of the club's debts and became a financial sponsor.
2010s
June 20, 2014 the club signed a contract with coach Danny Franco .
On June 25, 2014, the Euroleague Executive Council unanimously agreed to transfer to Hapoel the right to compete for a place in the Euroleague qualification. The step was made in the light of the fact that Hapoel positions itself as a promising club with a new ownership group, with high stability and a completely new arena for 11,600 seats.
In September 2014, Hapoel defeated Maccabi in the League Cup final, winning the first title of the season.
On June 25, 2015, he won the Israeli Championship for the first time, defeating the Hapoel Eilat team in the series finale [2] . In 2017, Hapoel became the country's champion for the second time.
