Biblical - insectivorous plants , even look like sundews , but do not have a close relationship with them [2] . These are low bushes up to half a meter high ( giant biblis - up to 70 cm ). The leaves are long, round in cross section, covered with many hairs and glands (from 300 thousand to 2 million) [3] . The flowers are purple hues, but there are also white ones .
Range - Northern Australia and the south of New Guinea , as well as small areas in Western Australia . Prefer marshy moist soils .
According to The Plant List database (as of July 2016), the genus includes 7 species [4] : (until the 1980s, only Byblis gigantea and Byblis liniflora were isolated as separate species).
