Story

Eighth graders are participating in a obscure scientific experiment at the Brain Institute. “Monomakh hat” is a device with a bunch of wires that they put on their heads and conduct some kind of tests. The school secretary, accompanying the students, checking the list of surnames, notices a large inscription “PETROV !!!” in the protocol of the scientists. In response to a question about this inscription, scientists reluctantly mention a certain “Petrov coefficient”. Without thinking twice, the secretary talks about this in the teacher’s room, believing that it is about Valka Petrov ( Kolya Feofanov ), an unpopular three-piece player who wears the nickname “Sidorov” because of his surname, and an aura of giftedness appears around him. Now the teenager is surrounded by close attention, all his actions, previously condemned, are now becoming new confirmations of his eccentricity. The girls are flirting with him, the teachers are fawning. The leader of the class, the excellent student with claims to elitism, Alik Shubin ( Gabriel Vorobyov ) is openly jealous and seeks to discredit. And the hero remains completely ignorant and innocently shows all those wonderful human qualities that he had not been noticed before. It turns out to be hardworking, humble, generous and considerate of people. His popularity among classmates has grown so much that Shubin, who has lost his place, wants to return everything to normal at all costs. He did not hesitate to go to the research institute and find out that the "Petrov coefficient" is a scientific term, and coincidence with the name of a classmate is a will of chance. But his exposure will no longer drop the “child prodigy” in the eyes of children and teachers. Petrov passed the test with a hat Monomakh with honor.
