Prologue
Once upon a time there were three little pigs ... sorry, puppy: Snoopy, Lupi and Drupi .
The first puppy built himself a kennel from straw , the second puppy from brushwood , and the smart puppy from bricks .
Story
The story of the film is a variation on the theme of the tale of the three little pigs . “You can build from straw and brushwood if you want,” the intelligent puppy Drupi instructs his foolish brothers. “But an evil dog catcher will come, blow and demolish your houses, and you will find yourself in a dog shelter.” Further events develop exactly as Drupi predicted: the dog catcher Wolf is announced in the area, demolishes the houses of two stupid puppies, and they hide in a brick kennel his smart brother.
Having failed with the brick house, Wolf makes numerous attempts to get to the puppies or lure them out of the house, but thanks to Drupi's efforts, all his efforts end in failure.
Cultural Influence
- The character Wolf, voiced by actor Dawes Butler (presented in this film in an uncharacteristic role for him - calm, unhurried and phlegmatic) served as a prototype for the hero of the television animated series of Hanna-Barbera Productions Studios named Huckleberry Hound.
- Released by MGM in 1957 (after the departure of Tex Avery), the cartoon " Blackboard Jumble " (directed by Michael La) tells the story of three puppies acting as naughty students. Wolf in this film tries to play the role of a school teacher. At the same time, the one-on-one film repeats a series of original gags from Avery's The Three Little Pups.
