History
It was formed on April 30, 1942 as part of the 7th army by transforming the 184th separate demining battalion , becoming the first Guards unit of army engineering troops.
As part of the army from August 21, 1942 to November 5, 1944.
From the moment of formation and until June 1944, he acted on the Svirsk defensive line.
From June 1944 he took part in the Svirsko-Petrozavodsk offensive operation , provided a crossing over the Svir River , being in corps subordination, it is likely that in the subordination of the 37th Guards Rifle Corps , then laid roads, provided demining areas during the operation. Received the honorary title "Svirsky." After the operation withdrawn in reserve.
On February 1, 1945, it was renamed the 128th Guards Separate Demining Battalion.
