Quilling ( fr. Ruche ) - women's clothing trim in the form of a gathered or corrugated strip of fabric or lace sewn in the center [1] . Quilling appeared in Russia in the second half of the 18th century and gained particular popularity in the 19th century, when women's dresses were decorated with garlands of ruffles. The ruffles also sheathed the edges of the cuts of dresses, sleeves and hats. In the XX century, quilling returned to fashion with a romantic style several times: in the 1930s, 1950s and 1970s.
