History
Belichan settlement is an experimental settlement of the Experimental mine located in 1961 as the base of the All-Union Research Institute of Gold and Rare Metals for testing and researching new methods of gold mining. The village arose earlier than the indicated mine , in November 1950, by merging the Belichan and Kuranakh mines into a single mine and village [4] . Belichan received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1965. He was 15 km from the district center of Susuman and 12 km from the village of Maldyak , where in 1939 S.P. Korolev was imprisoned.
To date, the village of Belichan does not exist due to the fact that the mine was declared bankrupt. Most of the population moved to Susuman . However, officially Belichan is still not excluded from the accounting data either as a settlement in general, or even as an urban-type settlement.
