David Matthew Kennedy ( born July 21, 1905 - May 1, 1996) is the 60th US Treasury Secretary.

Born in Randolph , Utah , in a Mormon family. Having married at the age of 19 and having served for some time in the Mormon mission in Liverpool, Kennedy graduated from George Washington University , from 1930 to 1946 he works in the Federal Reserve System , after which he enters the service at Illinois Continental Bank, where the next 10 years makes a career and becomes its CEO. In 1957 he became a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago , in 1961 - the Brookings Institution .
In 1962, President Kennedy appointed his namesake (David Kennedy was not related to the Kennedy clan ) as a member of the board of COMSAT , the corporation that manages the global satellite communications system in the United States.
From 1969 to 1971, Kennedy was US Treasury Secretary under President Richard Nixon . After that, from March 1972 to February 1973, he served as US Permanent Representative to NATO .
Kennedy was also a special representative of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints .
David Kennedy in Salt Lake City , Utah, died of heart failure in his 91st year of life.
Kennedy is named the Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University .
