Pleiona ( dr. Greek Πληιόνη , later Πλειόνη ) is a character in ancient Greek mythology , an oceanid , a daughter of the Titans Ocean and Tefida [1] .

The wife of the titan Atlanta . Mother of seven galaxies ( Alkion , Keleno , Maya , Merop , Sterop (Asterop), Tayget and Electra ) [2] . She gave birth to them in Killena ( Arcadia ) [3] .
Also, according to versions, the mother of Giant (Gias), hyades and Calypso [4] .
The hunter Orion , chasing the pleiades, chased after Pleion with his dog [5] , when she and her daughters walked around Boeotia , and pursued them for seven years (or five months [6] ). Zeus took pity on the pleiades and placed them among the constellations [7] .
The name in the Pleonas is the star in the Pleiades cluster .
