Kayum Khabibrakhmanovich Akhmetshin (1909-1943) - Soviet soldier, participant in the Great Patriotic War , Hero of the Soviet Union , assistant commander of the saber platoon of the 58th guards cavalry regiment of the 16th guards cavalry division, formed in December 1941 in Ufa as the 112th Bashkir cavalry division , 7th cavalry corps of the 61st army of the Central Front , guard foreman.

Born on June 24 (July 7), 1909 in the village of Karakusyuk, Orsk district, Orenburg province [1] . Bashkir. Primary education. Until 1929, he was engaged in farming on his father's farm. From May 1929 to April 1932 he worked as secretary of the Alekseevsky village council of Zianchurinsky district . In 1932–34 he served in the Red Army . In 1934-1941 he worked as a fire inspector of the Zianchurinsky, Khaibullinsky district departments of the NKVD of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1939.

Battle Path

He was again drafted into the Red Army in December 1941 by the Khaibulla district military commissariat of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .

The foreman K. Kh. Akhmetshin especially distinguished himself during the crossing of the Dnieper River on September 27, 1943. One of the platoon squads came under fire from enemy artillery. A fragment of shell hit the boat. Konstantin Kh. Akhmetshin, who was walking near a damaged boat on a raft, moved into it on the go, plugged a hole and safely transported the boat to the right bank.

On the western bank of the Dnieper with his platoon, he was surrounded. During the battle with the Nazis, ammunition ran out. K. X. Akhmetshin, having destroyed the enemy’s easel machine gun , raised a platoon to attack. In hand-to-hand combat, a platoon destroyed twenty-five enemy soldiers, broke through the encirclement and went to his squadron. [2]

Akhmetshin K. Kh. Died the death of the brave in battle on November 10, 1943 in the vicinity of the city of Rechitsa . [3]

He was buried in the village of Uborkok, Loevsky district, Gomel region of Belarus . [four]

The title of Hero of the Soviet Union Kayum Khabibrakhmanovich Akhmetshin was posthumously assigned January 15, 1944.
