Melbourne Cricket Club ( MCC ) is the oldest sports club in Australia , founded in 1838. [1] It is located in Melbourne and is the largest in the country (the club includes approximately 99 thousand members). [2] In addition to cricket , the Melbourne Club also supports other sports - golf , lacrosse , baseball , tennis , field hockey , squash . In 1859, he took an active part in the development of Australian football rules. The club is also responsible for maintaining the Melbourne Cricket Stadium , Australia's largest stadium.
