The National Council of the Slovak Republic ( Slovak. Národná rada Slovenskej republiky , often - Národná rada or NR SR ) has been unicameral and legislative body ( parliament ) of Slovakia since October 1, 1992 .

History
From 1969 to 1992, the predecessor of the parliament was the Slovak legislative body of Czechoslovakia - the Slovak National Council ( Slovak. Slovenská národná rada ).

The main building of the Parliament is located near the fortress of Bratislava Castle on a hill, on the square of Alexander Dubcek .
