Mkrtum Ovnatanyan ( Armenian. Մկրտում Հովնաթանյան , also Mkrtum Avnatamov , 1779 - 1845 ) - a painter, son of Ovnatan Ovnatanyan , lived and worked in Tbilisi.

Biography
Mkrtum Ovnatanyan was born in 1779 in a family of hereditary Armenian artists. As the son of Ovnatan Ovnatanyan , he lived and worked in Tbilisi. He painted church pictures, performed a series of images of Armenian kings and military leaders, the most famous of which, “Tsar Trdat”, is kept in the Art Gallery of Armenia . He helped his father to restore and complement the painting of the Echmiadzin Cathedral, made by his great-grandfather Ovnatan Nagash . He finished the painting of Norashen church, which had begun by Ovnatan Ovnatanyan . He also performed paintings in the Zion Cathedral. Mkrtum Ovnatanyan, along with other representatives of his own kind, made an invaluable contribution to the development of Armenian painting. His works are imbued with a love of national traditions and history. Mkrtum died at the age of 66 in the city of Tbilisi . He was buried there at the Armenian cemetery Khojivank .
