The Nogliksky District is an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) [5] , within the boundaries of which, instead of the abolished homonymous district , the municipal entity “ Nogliksky City District ” [6] [7] is formed in the Sakhalin Region of Russia .

Geographical position
Nogliki district belongs to the regions of the Far North . [eight]
It is located along the northeast coast of Sakhalin , on the North Sakhalin central plain and coastal lowlands in the east, separated from the plain by relatively low (up to 600 meters) ridges consisting of outlier mountains.
History
Was formed [ specify ] February 10, 1930 at the first native congress of Soviets as the East Sakhalin district (East Sakhalin indigenous region). Since February 1, 1963 - the Nogliki industrial region. Since January 12, 1965 - the Nogliki district.
In 2006, the eponymous municipal district (Nogliki District) was transformed into the municipality of the Nogliki City District.
