The official birthday of the Kuzbassrazrezugol company is May 19, 1964, when, in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, the specialized plant Kuzbasskarerugol was founded in the Kemerovo Region. Under the unified leadership, all open coal mining in the basin was concentrated - then all 13 coal mines operating in the Kemerovo Region, several under construction and a number of auxiliary enterprises and organizations with a total number of employees of about 14 thousand people were concentrated in the plant. Open pit mining in Kuzbass produced just 18 million 715 thousand tons.

Lev Moiseevich Reznikov , chief engineer Vladimir Petrovich Bogatyrev was appointed the head of the Kuzbasskarugrugl.

The first decade of the plant was marked by a large increase in coal production, due to capacity increase. During the first years of the plant's operations, three new ones were put into operation and six sections were reconstructed. In 1974, the plant already included 49 enterprises and organizations associated with open coal mining, including 17 opencast mines. The total number of workers employed at the enterprises of the Combine was 36,443.

At the same time, mining complexes were built in conjunction with coal mining enterprises with the entire social sphere: Bachatsky , Kedrovka , Krasnobrodsky .

1989 was the most “productive” year for the enterprises of Kuzbassrazrezugol. Since the moment of their commissioning, many sections have achieved the highest performance. And in general, the association, which already included 21 opencast mines, for the first time reached the maximum level of production - 63 million 060.3 thousand tons. Subsequently, during privatization, the enterprises that are part of the Company were transformed into joint-stock companies. Their production capacities served as the basis for the formation in 2003 of OJSC UK “Kuzbassrazrezugol”.

At the time of the creation of the Company, it included 11 large branches located in the Kemerovo region. In the jubilee year of 2004, Kuzbassrazrezugol crossed the 40-million milestone of annual production. Enterprises issued 41 million 316 thousand tons of coal.

In 2006, the Company was transferred to the management of UGMK-Holding LLC, to which the functions of the sole executive body of Kuzbassrazrezuglya were transferred. A year later, the miners of the Company increased production to 46 million 336 thousand tons of coal, and in 2008 - up to 50 million tons. In 2009, the branch network was enlarged by combining some sections. Today, 6 branches of the Company are producing in several coal fields: Mokhovskoye (Mokhovskoye, Sartakinskoye and Karakanskoye fields), Krasnobrodskiy (Krasnobrodskoye and Vakhrushevskoye fields), Taldinsky (Taldinskoye, Tayozhnoye and Yerunakovskoye fields), Kaltansky (Kaltanskoye) and Osinnikovskoe fields), Bachatsky and Kedrovsky coal mines.

Today, Kuzbassrazrezugol Management Company is still the most powerful association of coal mines in Kuzbass. In 2014, the Company celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The Kuzbassrazrezugol concern was established in 1990 on the basis of the Kemerovougol production association, founded on May 19, 1964 , in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR , as a specialized Kuzbasskareugol combine . In accordance with the decree, in the Kemerovo region , under the unified leadership, all open coal mining was concentrated in the basin . The special plant included all 13 coal mines operating at that time in the region, several under construction and a number of auxiliary enterprises and organizations, with a total number of employees of about 14,000 people. At that time, about 18 715 000 tons of coal were mined in the open pit in Kuzbass. The concern was incorporated in 1993 as AOOT .

In March 2006, the company acquired a majority stake (51%) of the British coal company Powerfuel .

Entrepreneur Iskander Makhmudov and chairman of the board of directors of Kuzbassrazrezugol Andrei Bokarev own more than 75% of the company’s shares. In addition to them, the company’s beneficiary is the chairman of the board of directors of Krutrade’s exclusive export trader, Gennady Ayvazyan.

In 2006, the Company came under the control of UMMC-Holding LLC, which acts as the sole executive body of Kuzbassrazrezuglya.

The company is developing 17 coal deposits in the Kemerovo region , including a total of more than 110 coal seams with deposit angles from 5 to 90 degrees. The main brands of coal : D , DG, G , KS, KOS, SS , T. The carbon content is from 75 to 94%.

Coal mining is conducted in an open way at 6 coal mines of Kuzbass :

General performance indicators

Kuzbassrazrezugol is the second (in terms of production) coal producer in Russia . In 2003, production amounted to 40.036 million tons of coal. In 2008, Kuzbassrazrezugol produced 50,031.3 thousand tons of coal. In 2009, production decreased to 46 097 thousand tons of coal, in 2010 49 million 708 thousand tons of coal were produced, in 2011 - 47 million tons, including more than 5 million tons of coking grades. The plan for 2012 is 45 million ^[3] . The decrease in coal production is planned ^[4] and is explained by the increase in overburden volumes.

In 2005, the revenue amounted to $ 612.27 million. The net profit for this period was $ 22.54 million. The company's profit is accumulated abroad from the export trader of KRUtrade. In 2004, Krutrade generated $ 1.3 billion in revenue and $ 214 million in net profit.

The number of employees at the end of December 2009 was 20,058 people, including 13,947 coal mining workers ^[5] .
