About the Single
Christ Illusion's album was originally due to be released on June 6, 2006. Kerry King stated that this release date was revised, as many other bands also wanted to release their albums on this day considering it a good idea, [1] although USA Today reported that the album was released the bands were inhibited, the band was not able to provide a good studio to make a good recording. [2] Eternal Pyre was released in return for their album, which was released in the coming months. The single “Cult” was available, on the band’s website and on the internet north of iTunes on the same day. [3] 5,000 copies were issued exclusively through the Hot Topic in the United States, and copies were also available in Germany, Finland, and Sweden on June 23. [4] Nuclear Blast Records released a vinyl version of the disc, limited to one thousand copies, the release was June 30th. [5] The song “Cult” was written by King, the main theme of the song was that America is the largest cult in the world, even in the song indicates the flaws in religion. [6]
Opinions
Despite the very limited number of copies, Eternal Pyre debuted at number 48 on the Swedish chart ,, [7] and number 2 on the Finnish chart. [8] The Pitch criticized the price of the alleged EP at $ 5.99 ($ US). The music was described as average as the song went “From slow to full speed, when King and Jeff Hanneman played a storm causing thunder, lightning and human blood. [9]
