Shvernik Street (in 1958-1971 - Television Street ) - a street located in the South-Western Administrative District of Moscow, which is part of the Academic District . Name Origin
The former name (Television Street) was assigned in 1958 in connection with the proposed construction of a television center in the area (the construction was moved to Ostankino). It was renamed in 1971 in honor of Nikolai Mikhailovich Shvernik (1888-1970), a Soviet political figure.
Description
On Shvernik Street, there is tax inspectorate No. 28, a dormitory of Moscow State University , Trinity Church of the Life-giving in Old Cheryomushki and post office 117449. The nearest metro stations are Akademicheskaya and Krymskaya .
Noteworthy buildings and structures
- No. 9, building 2 - residential building (not preserved). From 1963 to the end of the 1960s, a poet, film director, screenwriter Gennady Shpalikov lived here [1] . Also in this house from 1963 to the end of the 1960s, the actor Z. E. Gerdt lived, then he moved to house No. 15 building 1 [2] .
- No. 11, building 4, (11 Television Street, building 4, apartment 41) - since 1964, the poet, actor, author and performer of his own songs lived, Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky, with his mother Nina Maksimovna. The house was demolished in 1998. [3]
