The port contains one passenger terminal with four telescopic ramps and three remote aircraft parking lots, which are used by regional carriers. The terminal underwent a complete reconstruction and is able to serve up to one and a half million people a year, at the top level of the building, a new restaurant, a business lounge for first-class passengers, new machines and other services are open. Aguascalientes is currently one of the most important airports in western Mexico.
The airport got its name in honor of the governor of Aguascalientes (1855-1857), Jesus Teran Peredo, one of the first to recognize and support the President of Mexico, Benito Juarez .
