The first red dwarf to have discovered a planetary system . Probably massive giant planets are generally atypical for such stars. The orbits of the planets b , c and e are in resonance 1: 2: 4. Planet d is one of the lightest exoplanets found in normal stars. The perturbations of the orbits of the giant planets caused by the mutual gravitational influence made it possible to determine the angle of inclination of the orbits to the line of sight ~ 50 Β°.

Physical Characteristics
Red dwarf spectral class M3.5V. Not visible to the naked eye (magnitude 10.17). Luminosity 0.0016 solar (bolometric 0.014 solar).
Planet System
As of 2010, the star has four exoplanets : Gliese 876 d , Gliese 876 c , Gliese 876 b , Gliese 876 e . As of April 2014, it is assumed that there are two more (and possibly four) planets [1] . The discovery of the planetary system occurred in 1998.
