Biography
Angela is an angel and hunter for the Hellspowns . She first appeared in the ninth edition when she was hunting Spawn. Having entered the battle with him, for the first time in her career, she is defeated. But when, after this, Spawn appeared at the trial in Paradise - it is interesting that there he witnessed that Angela was given permission to hunt him - they began a romantic relationship. Angela appeared more than once in the comic until she tragically died at the hands of Malbolgia in the hundredth issue.
Since 2013, Angela began to be published in Marvel Comics . It first appeared at the end of the Age of Ultron story as a result of a break in the Multiverse . She first joins the Guardians of the Galaxy [1] . In the Original sin line, Angela is shown as Odin's daughter and Thor's sister.
Edition History
Angela appeared in the issues of "Spawn" No. 9, 62, 89 and from 96 to 100. In 1994-95. a mini-series dedicated to Angela was released, the script of which was written by Neil Gaiman , and Greg Capullo was an illustrator . These three issues, along with one special issue, were later reissued in a single volume entitled "Spawn: Angela's Hunt." There is also a separate special issue, Oceans of Evil (1995), dedicated to Angela. Angela also appeared in several crossovers - in the cycle "Anger of Angels", which went through several other series, for example, "Youngblood", she met with Gloria. She also appeared in the Aria / Angela crossover.
In March 2013, it was announced on the Comic Book Resources website that Neil Gaiman was returning to Marvel along with the rights to publish Angela. Joe Quesada commented that Angela would appear at the end of the Age of Ultron line [2] . In May, Entertainment Weekly published the first image of Angela as the representative of Marvel, in a new design from Joe Quesada [3]
Rights Issues
In 1993, McFarlane brought in Neil Gaiman, as well as Alan Moore , Dave Sim, and Frank Miller to work on Spawn. Each of them had to write one issue. In his ninth, Gameman introduced characters such as Angela, Cogliostro and Medieval Spawn . After that, all three continued to appear (and play a significant role) in the series, and were issued in the form of figures. Cogliostro played an important role in the plot of the 1997 film. Initially, MacFarlane agreed that Gaiman would retain the rights to them, but later stated that the writer was only hired to do the work, and therefore all of his creations belong to MacFarlane, pointing to copyrights in the ninth issue and the absence of a contract that claims the opposite (some believed that these actions were caused by the desire to obtain all rights to the characters, using the character of the Miracle Worker for exchange). McFarlane also refused to pay Geiman deductions from all reprints of his works and toys. In 2002, Gaiman sued and won the case. The court ruled that since Gaiman created the characters and McFarlane painted them, the rights to them should be divided equally between the two. But now Angela is part of the Marvel Comics universe . Her appearance is expected in the final, 10th edition of the Age of Ultron series, and then the heroine is waiting for the 5th edition of the Guardians of the Galaxy comic, authored by Brian Michael Bendis , co-written with Neil Gaiman.
