LiAZ-6212

LiAZ-6212 is a Russian high- floor city bus of a particularly large class produced by the Likinsky Bus Plant , produced from 2002 to 2014. The main share of these buses was delivered from the factory to Moscow (537 copies, 40% of the output) and the Moscow Region (about 200 copies, 15% of the output).

History

The bus was created on the basis of the LiAZ-5256 model, the first samples of which, the SVARZ-6240 and YAZ-6211 models, were assembled as far back as 1993 and 1996, respectively. The engines in these cars were located horizontally under the passenger compartment floor. The model with the rear engine LiAZ-6220 in the series did not go.

The new bus received an index - LiAZ-6212.00. She was distinguished by a 300 liter Caterpillar-3126 diesel engine. with. The factory numbering of new machines started again from one, that is, the machine of the mid-90s was not taken into account in the new numbering. Thus, 2 experimental yellow-gray buses received serial numbers 1 and 2 (the last of them was presented at the Moscow Motor Show on Krasnaya Presnya in 2002).

Two experimental buses had a standard appearance (like most LiAZ-5256), but the cabin was a little non-standard: the arrangement of control devices and devices was slightly different, and the partition was only directly behind the driver. But such exterior and interior were not destined to go into series - all subsequent cars had plastic platbands on the front and rear, under which were hidden square headlights. The cab also changed: a narrow partition appeared, and instead of a window for communication with the driver, it provided for a door with a cash window. In total, four cars were produced, and all of them were sent to work in Moscow. At the same time, 2 of them were equipped with a cabin at LiAZ (serial numbers 4 and 5), while the rest were put on burgundy seats at TMZ (serial numbers 3 and 6).

All subsequent Moscow buses 6212 arrived completely without interior and were finalized at TMZ. The same narrow partition and the Swift seats of two colorings were installed on them: burgundy and sand. The first 5 buses were assembled in winter and did not have time to pass full-scale factory tests, which later caused a big problem: in the summer, the cooling system simply could not cope with a 300-horsepower engine, and had to go at a speed of no more than 50 km / h, otherwise the engine overheated and it was required to drown for cooling. In addition, due to the changed layout of the motor compartment for the repair of the radiator, it was necessary to open the bus body. Of course, a number of other shortcomings, inherited from the LiAZ-5256, also appeared.

To date, the LiAZ-6212 bus is available only on request.

Specifications

Steering

Power steering taken from MAZ-64229 .

Transmission - Voith Diwa 863 / 863.3E. Switching is carried out depending on the topography of the terrain and the acceleration of the bus, which greatly affects fuel economy. The unit switches over 4 programs. The box is equipped with a mass of electronics that monitors the operation of the transmission and maintains an archive of data for repair and maintenance of the gearbox. The unit is equipped with an innovative cooling system that can withstand high temperature conditions under heavy loads. The oil change interval is up to 180,000 km.

Pneumatic brakes, dual circuit, equipped with ABS. The parking brake system is implemented as part of the braking mechanisms of the middle and rear axles driven by brake chambers with spring-loaded energy batteries. A backup brake is one of the circuits of the main system.

Bridges and suspension

The bus suspension is implemented on all three axles in one position: dependent, pneumatic, with body height controls. On the front axle - two hydraulic shock absorbers, on the middle and rear axles - four.

Body

Wagon-type body with an articulation unit HUBNER HF-485, for buses with a pushing section. The base, sides, roof, front and rear parts are welded together from longitudinally-transverse pipes. Side cladding is made of galvanized sheet steel, the roof is made of simple steel. Front and rear masks, bumpers are made of fiberglass. The body resource is declared by the plant for a period of 12 years. Painting of cladding parts is carried out in a cataphoretic chamber, which increases the strength of the paint coating.

All 4 doors open inward and are equipped with anti-jamming systems. The width of the openings is 1282 mm. Door drives are pneumatic, mounted directly above the doorways. The doors of the bus are made of aluminum profiles with anti-vandal glasses. There are emergency door tearing off buttons from the inside of the cabin and from the outside of the body.

Salon

Interior height - 2078 mm. Plywood flooring; flooring - high-strength linoleum Grabiol STOP JSC. Walls and ceilings are made of laminate. The material is characterized by increased wear resistance. Passenger seats are manufactured using vandal-proof technology: plastic on a metal frame, lined with wear-resistant fabrics, without head restraints.

Bus

The main current source is an alternator with a voltage regulator of 140A and 24V. The bus has two 12V batteries, and a capacity of 190Ah. The batteries are located on a retractable frame, which is convenient for maintenance.

The electrical circuit of the machine includes: distribution socket, all lighting devices, fuses are used as fuses.

Modifications

  • LiAZ-6212.00 - basic modification, was equipped with a Caterpillar -3126Е engine and a Voith Diwa 863 or Allison T-270 R. gearbox
    • It was produced in 2003-2009, a total of 1,161 units were produced. [one]
  • LiAZ-6212.01 - unlike the base 6212.00, it has a passenger compartment layout with 31 seats, instead of 33. There is also a different arrangement of buttons on the dashboard and handrails.
  • LiAZ-6212.40 - experimental modification with the KamAZ -740.53-290 engine. In total, one machine was produced, which stands in the experimental production hall at the manufacturer.
  • LiAZ-6212.54 - modification with the Cummins -ISLe310.41 engine for Tolyatti. The last batch of model 6212, which was released by the factory.
  • LiAZ-6212.70 - modification with a Cummins-CGe280.30 gas engine , has an eco-standard Euro-4.

Export to Cuba

Buses that were exported to Cuba from 2007 to 2008 have:

  • window panes in all windows for greater passenger comfort, as the climate in Cuba is tropical
  • non-standard headlights, similar to those that were put on the long-distance modifications LiAZ-5256.23 and LiAZ-5256.33
  • some machines have name plates in Spanish

A total of 50 buses of the LiAZ-6212.00 model were exported to Cuba.

Incidents

  • On June 27, 2012 , in Moscow, during the collision of the LiAZ-6212.00 bus with tail number “09355” 16 people were injured [2] . After the accident, the bus was decommissioned due to the arch in the area of ​​the front door.
  • On August 20, 2012 in Pskov, the LiAZ-6212.00 bus with accession number “223” burned down, there are no details about the fire.
  • December 12, 2014 in Moscow, at the intersection of Medikov and Caspian Streets, as a result of the carelessness of the tow truck driver, the LiAZ-6212.01 bus with tail number “09289” was damaged [3] . In June 2015, the bus was decommissioned and cut into scrap metal.
  • On February 6, 2015 in Veliky Novgorod, on the Lyudogoshcha street, the LiAZ-6212.70 bus with tail number “370” burned out, according to official information, the bus wiring became a source of ignition. [four]
