For me - a professional musician - the first impression of Leonid Lazarev's photographs was akin to the impression of great musical works. In his works, I found analogues of melody, harmony, rhythm, vibrant dynamic contrasts, polyphony: I saw a variety of “orchestrations” - sometimes transparent, airy, almost unreal, sometimes very dense, deliberately documentary, piercing-everyday. Over the whole huge number of works of the composer lyricism, love for people, a desire to reveal their inner world through the appearance, love for their homes, for cities, for culture, art, for nature, for grass and sticky leaves, and in general for everything that exists on earth, are characteristic.

Looking at me, he did not see me, but that future photograph, which already flickered in his imagination. He worked with me as a writer works with a word.
