Dredge

Dredge

Draga is a complex mechanized mining and processing unit operating on the principle of a bucket chain excavator mounted on a floating platform. It has a multi-working tool for underwater development. It is used for the development of placers , the extraction of valuable minerals (most often gold , silver ) from them, and for slag dumping.

The principle of the dredge

In Russia, dredges are widely used in alluvial gold mines of the Urals , Eastern Siberia and the Far East .

Also, sometimes a ship is called a drag on which such an aggregate is installed.

There are dredges that work on the principle of a suction pump , that is, they suck up the rock and pump it to the processing plant.

Dredge has a tremendous impact on the ecosystem of the river, virtually completely destroying its old channel and banks.
