Biography
Born on January 19, 1916 in the city of Petrograd (now St. Petersburg ) in a working class family. Russian He graduated from 9 classes. He lived in Moscow . He worked at a pharmaceutical company. He graduated from the Central flying club in Moscow.
In the Red Army since 1940. He graduated from the Vyaznikov Military Aviation Pilot School in 1941. He served in it as a flight instructor and flight commander.
On the fronts of World War II from April 1943. He was a senior pilot, flight commander, deputy squadron commander. He fought on the South-West, 3rd and 1st Ukrainian fronts. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944. In battles twice wounded.
Participated:
- in battles on the Kursk Bulge in the Belgorod-Kharkov direction, in the Izyum-Barvenkovskaya, Zaporizhzhya and Dnepropetrovsk operations - in 1943;
- in Rivne-Lutsk, Lviv-Sandomierz operations, including in battles in the Vladimir-Volynsky, Lviv directions, over the Sandomirsky bridgehead - in 1944;
- in the Wisło-Oder operation, in combat missions to the bridgehead areas on the Oder and Beaver rivers, in the destruction of the garrison in the city of Glogau and the Oppeln group, in breaking through the defense on the Neisen direction, in Berlin and Prague operations in 1945.
The captain Yaremenko, deputy squadron commander of the 5th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Guard, flew 183 sorties by April 1945, of which: 9 - to attack the enemy troops, 39 - to reconnaissance, 48 - to cover their troops, 68 - to escort bombers and attack aircraft , 17 - for a free "hunt", 2 - to intercept enemy aircraft. Made 49 sorties with bombing. As a result of assault and bombing operations, 29 vehicles with cargo and manpower, 3 steam locomotives, 5 railway wagons, 3 enemy aircraft on the ground, 19 wagons were damaged and destroyed, 1 ammunition depot was blown up, 15 anti-aircraft artillery points were crushed, destroyed to 40 enemy soldiers and officers.
In total, during the war he made 200 sorties, in 46 air battles he shot down 15 enemy planes in person and 2 in the group - 1 Junkers Ju 87 , 1 Junkers Ju 88 , 1 Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu as part of the group, 5 Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Wurger , 7 Messerschmitt Bf. 109 , 1 Heinkel He 111 [3] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard shown to this, Captain Yuryomenko Evgeny Mikhailovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal ”(No. 7661).
In 1947 he graduated from the Higher Officer Flight Tactical Courses. Until October 1952, he served as squadron commander and assistant commander of the air regiment for air combat technology and aerial shooting in the 805th, 304th and 351st fighter regiments of the Belarusian military district. Then he served as an assistant regiment commander for air battle tactics in the 773th and 672th fighter regiments of the Northern Military District in the city of Monchegorsk, Murmansk Region.
Since April 1958, Lt. Col. E. M. Yaremenko - in stock. He lived in Odessa. He worked as a QC supervisor at a medical equipment factory. He died on January 25, 1975. He was buried in Odessa on the Walk of Fame.
