Reynaldo Benito Antonio Bignone Ramayon ( Spanish: Reynaldo Benito Antonio Bignone Ramayón ; January 21, 1928 , Moron , province of Buenos Aires - March 7, 2018 , Buenos Aires ) - Argentine military and statesman, general, self-appointed president of Argentina, 1982 ( in modern Argentina, is excluded from the list of presidents, like other leaders of the junta). The last military dictator of Argentina, was forced to transfer power to the civilian government of Raul Alfonsin .

After his resignation in 1985, he was accused of torture, abduction and murder, but was released in 1986 . In January 1999 he was again convicted. In 2006 he was transferred to house arrest, but in 2007 he was again arrested on charges of violating human rights during the reign of the junta. In April 2010, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison [2] .
On March 1 of the following year, another trial began against Reynaldo Bignone and former President Jorge Videla on charges of 34 episodes of abduction of children of women dissidents who were imprisoned for political reasons. According to the prosecution, the mothers were taken away children at the age of several days, and the women themselves were mostly killed, including by dumping from airplanes at sea [3] .
In July 2012, Bignone, along with Jorge Videla, was found guilty by an Argentine court of organizing the abduction of children from women political prisoners. Bignone was sentenced to 30 years in prison. [4] [5]
In May 2016, Bignone was sentenced to another 20 years in prison in the case of Operation Condor [6] .
