Club career
January 15, 2007 was leased to Lazio for one season for 311,000 € [2] [3] . On January 27, a debut for the capital's club took place in a match against Palermo [4] .
On July 15, 2007, Jimenez transferred on loan to the International [5] [6] . The debut goal for the “black and blue” Wizard scored on November 27 of the same year in the group stage match of the Champions League against the Turkish club Fenerbahçe (3-0). After 5 days, he made his debut for a new club in Serie A in the match against Fiorentina , where he also scored a goal. On December 5, in a match against Lazio, Jimenez fought off with an assist on Maicon .
At the end of the 2007/08 season , Internazionale signed Jimenez on an ongoing basis for 3 years for 6.3 million € [7] . On August 24, 2008, he held the first match for the “snake” under the leadership of Jose Mourinho : the match for the Italian Super Cup against Roma , in which he scored in the penalty shoot-out and helped the club become the owner of this trophy. On August 30, he played his first game in the 2008/09 season against Sampdoria , but was later injured in training. On November 30, at the end of the match against Napoli , he entered the field for the first time after an injury. Subsequent long-term injury allowed Jimenez to take part in only 6 matches of the national championship that season.
On June 23, 2009, Jimenez was leased to West Ham United [8] . The debut for the new club took place on August 15 in a match against Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-0) [9] . Louis scored the only goal scored on November 28 in a match against Burnley (5-3) [10] .
February 1, 2010 was leased to Parma until June [11] .
On August 31, 2010, it was leased for 1 million euros to Cesena with the right to purchase [12] [13] . He played the role of the second striker in the 4-3-3 circuit.
June 29, 2011 signed a four-year contract with the club Al-Ahly [14] . Helped the club to win many national trophies.
In July 2016, it was announced that Jimenez, as a free agent, became a player in Al-Arabi club.
Team Career
The debut for the national team of Chile took place on April 28, 2004 in a match against the national team of Peru . On June 4, 2005, Luis assisted Marcelo Salas, allowing him to become the top scorer in the history of the Chilean national team. In 2006, Jimenez became captain of the team. He was included in the national team for the America's Cup in 2004 and 2011 . In total, the Wizard for Chile spent 26 matches and scored 2 goals.
