Description
The stem is bluish-green, cylindrical, up to 2 cm in diameter, has 12 short-tuberous ribs.
Radial spines - 8-9, they are short, bristle-like, whitish; central spines - 1-2, they are slightly longer and darker than radial.
Flowers - up to 4 cm in length and in diameter, orange or yellow.
Distribution
Endemic of the Argentine provinces of Jujuy and Salta and the Bolivian departments of Chukisaka , Cochabamba , Potosi and Tarija .
