South Star is one of the most famous diamonds in the world.
History
The diamond was found in 1853 in Brazil . The weight before cutting was 254.5 carats , after cutting - 125.5 carats .
It is considered one of the most beautiful diamonds in the world. After cutting, the diamond was purchased by Gayekvad - the ruler of Baroda , a principality that was located in the west of India, north of Bombay.
According to legend, this beautiful diamond was accidentally found by a slave who gave the find to her master, but she did not wait for the freedom promised from him.
