Composition
- Chamber of Deputies of Italy - includes 630 deputies ( deputati ).
- Senate of Italy - includes 315 senators ( senatori ). Formally, the chambers are equal in status.
Elections
Since 2005, the proportional voting system established by the so-called Calderoli Act has been used for both houses. In 2013, this law was declared unconstitutional. The majority gets the coalition, which achieved victory at the national (in the Chamber of Deputies) and regional (in the Senate) levels. Parliament is elected for a five-year term.
