Born in Leszno , Poland , raised in Duisburg , Germany . He studied painting at an art school, but in 1971 he became interested in photography and two years later became an advertising photographer . Having moved to Paris in 1978, he concentrated on fashion - he shot many top models and actresses, including Nastasya Kinsky , Naomi Campbell , Christy Turlington , Linda Evangelista , Cindy Crawford , Kate Moss , Stephanie Seymour , Tatyana Sorokko , Isabella Rossellini , Natalia Vodyanova . Of the Russian models, he also worked with Olga Rodionova for the Pushkin Museum and the French magazine Numéro .
He carried out projects with Karl Lagerfeld , Deril Hannah , Giorgio Armani . Photos of Lindberg were published by Harper's Bazaar , Vogue , Vanity Fair , Rolling Stone magazines . A new upcoming project is an advertising shoot of the new fragrance, "M" for Mariah Carey . He is considered one of the most prominent fashion photographers in the world and is credited with merit in creating the phenomenon of supermodels of the 1990s [1] .
