Biography
Andrei Savinykh was born on November 6 ( November 18 ), 1888, in the village of Mershiny, Oryol District, Kirov Region . He graduated from the medical faculty of Tomsk University in 1917, served as a medical doctor on the Caucasian front. Since 1919 he worked at Tomsk University, in 1931 he became the head of the department of hospital surgery.
Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 2–5 convocations (from 1946 to 1962).
He died on February 26, 1963 in Tomsk . He was buried in the Southern cemetery [1] .
Daughter - Olga Osipova (Savinykh) , specialist in the field of languages of the peoples of Siberia , Doctor of Philology .
Major works
Created a clinical school. One of the organizers of a branch of the blood transfusion institute in Tomsk (1932) and the first oncological institute in Siberia (1936). Major works on the problems of surgical treatment of diseases of the organs of the chest and abdominal cavities. He proposed a number of surgical operations, designed and created unique surgical instruments that are widely used in surgical practice to this day.
The most remarkable discovery that glorified Soviet surgery is the diaphragmocrrotomy according to A. G. Savinykh ... Whoever has checked this in their own hands at least once will never give up this outstanding achievement.
