The first monument to the figure of Latvian culture. Installed in 1930 in a park by the Riga Canal. Made of beloved master granite, in a constructivist style. Large, geometric shapes give the sculpture the necessary volume and emphasize the national tradition of the work. In 1935 he was transferred to the city center at the crossroads of Krishyan Baron and Rudolf Blauman streets, in a small square. The result was unsuccessful, due to the active architectural background and the small space. In 1948 he was returned to his former place. [1] In recent years, re- landscaping of nearby territory has been carried out.
On the pedestal there is an inscription in Latvian: “Mans zelts ir mana tauta. Mans gods ir viņas gods. " Rūdolfs Blaumanis 1863-1908. ( My gold is my people. My honor is his honor. Rudolf Blaumanis 1863-1908 )
