Biography

The eighth of eleven children in the family of a Breton shoemaker, Lansien began to study music in the choir of one of the Parisian radio stations. He then took lessons from Robert Planel and Norbert Dufourc , then studied at the Paris Conservatory , where Olivier Messian and Darius Millau were among his teachers. In 1958 , he was awarded the Rome Prize for the one-act opera Death of Don Quixote ( French: Une mort de Don Quichotte ). Upon returning from Rome, he served in the army. In 1964 he headed the regional conservatory of Toulouse , completely reforming it. Then in 1970 - 1997 . was the director of the Nancy Conservatory , where he instituted a number of new training courses (in particular, saxophone, harpsichord, academic guitar), founded a jazz ensemble, and radically expanded educational facilities, having received the building of the former tobacco factory at the disposal of the conservatory in 1986 .

Creativity

The author of choral and vocal works on verses by Shakespeare , Boileau , Francois Villon , Max Jacob , Paul Eluard , a concert for trumpet and orchestra, piano and other chamber music.
