Biography
Linda Thompson was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 23, 1950 . She won several beauty contests, including Miss Tennessee in 1972 . In July of that year, Linda met with American singer Elvis Presley , who in those years broke up with Priscilla Presley . Their relationship lasted three and a half years. At the end of 1976 they broke up. From the same year (and until 1982 ), Linda performed in the television series Hee Haw .
In 1981, Linda married the 1976 Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner , from whom she gave birth to two children. Their marriage was not long and in 1983 they divorced.
In 1985, she made her debut as a songwriter, co-author of the words of the song Kenny Rogers Our Perfect Song . In 1991 - 2005, she was married to David Foster , with whom they created several songs, one of the most famous of them is No Explanation , written for the film "Pretty Woman" (1990).
In 1993, they were nominated for a Grammy and an Oscar for the song “ I Have Nothing ”, performed by Whitney Houston in the movie “The Bodyguard ” (1992).
The lyrical song The Power of the Dream performed by Celine Dion became the official song of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta . In 2003, Linda Thompson and her husband received an Emmy in the category "Best Music and Words" for "Concert for World Children's Day."
Together with her husband, Linda Thompson actively participated in the work of the David Foster Charitable Foundation .
Since 2005, actively participates in various activities related to art.
