Biography
Bakier graduated from the Paris Conservatory ( 1950 ). In the same year he entered the opera company of Jose Beckmann and made his debut in Nice in the first edition of Marcel Landowski 's opera Madman. In 1953 - 1956 the soloist of the Brussels theater La Monnet , where in his repertoire key parts in opera (especially French) coexisted with roles in operetta . Since 1956 , in the Paris Opera comedian . Since 1960 , the soloist of the Paris Opera , in 1962 made his debut at the Glyndebourne festival in the role of Count Almaviva (“ The Wedding of Figaro ”), in the next two years he performed for the first time on many of the most important opera scenes in the world and finally in 1964 sang for the first time Metro Opera (High Priest, Samson and Delilah of Saint-Saens ), after which he appeared on this stage in various parts for 18 seasons.
