Career

Milorad Pavic began his career at the Valjevo club, and also played for the Crvena Zvezda club. The heyday of his playing career came in the years of the war , in which Pavic fought and was captured by the Germans; thus the war prevented the further development of his playing career.

After the player’s career ended, Pavic became a coach, heading “Crvena Zvezda”, winning the national championship and three cups of Yugoslavia three times with the team, under his leadership “Crvena Zvezda” held 216 official matches, of which she won 113, 52 games were a draw and 51 lost. In 1962, Pavic went as a member of the coaching staff of the Yugoslav national team to the World Cup in Chile, where the Yugoslavs reached the semifinals.

In 1964, Pavil left Yugoslavia for Belgium, standing on the Standard’s coaching bridge, leading the club to second, two third and fourth places in the Belgian championship, won the Belgian Cup twice, then led the Club Brugge , which Pavic’s first season in the team took second place; after the second season, in which the club was only 5th in the championship, the Eurocup took off in the first round with West Bromwich Albion , and stumbled in the Belgian Cup at the 1/8 finals, Yugoslav was fired. In 1969, Pavic headed the Liège club, in the first season the club took only 11th place, and a year later repeated this result. The last club in the Belgian stage of Pavic's career was Tiyer San Nicolas , in which he served as head coach of the club for several months.

In 1972, Pavic left for Spain, heading the Athletic Bilbao club. For two years of Pavich’s work in the Athletic team he took 9th and 5th places in the championship; under his leadership, the club won the Spanish Cup in 1973. Pavic then led the Portuguese Benfica for one year, winning the Portuguese Championship with the club. Then he returned to Spain and worked for two seasons with Malaga , which he first brought to Example , and then flew out of it, taking last place.

Then Pavich led the French club Rouen , with whom he took last place in the championship, and did not work long in his homeland, in Vojvodina . In 1978, Pavic left for Portugal for the second time to train Sporting , with whom he beat only the 3rd. Then there was a return to Spain, where Pavic worked with Celta and Espanyol . The last club in Pavich’s coaching career was Standard, which he led for 3 seasons with a short break. Pavic did not achieve success with Standard, although he was close to it, in the 1985/86 season the club scored the same number of points with Anderlecht , but became second because of the worst difference between goals scored and goals conceded.

After the collapse of Yugoslavia Pavich returned to his native Valjevo, lived there; He died on August 16, 2005 in a hospital in Belgrade.
