History
Halo Friendlies was formed in 1997 as part of Judith Wignall (vocals), Cheryl Hitch (guitar), Natalie Bolanos (bass) and Diana Moody (drums). The musical style of the collective was formed under the influence of both classical rock ( The Beatles , Elvis Costello ) and alternative ( Sleater-Kinney , The Breeders ). The band's first recordings were produced by the leader of the South California punk rock band Kim Shattak.
During the work on the mini-album Acid Wash, the composition of Halo Friendlies underwent a change: Ginger Race replaced the bass guitarist Cheryl Hitch (in the future she became famous as part of The Smashing Pumpkins ). In 2000, drummer Diana Moody left the band, replaced by Christina Hawk, who brought the Halo Friendlies hard-n-heavy sound. The team stopped producing CDs in 2002 and was disbanded five years later.
