Zubovo-Polyansky district ( Moksh. Zubun Aymak , Erz. Peikuzho bue ) is an administrative-territorial unit and municipality ( municipal district ) within the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation .

The administrative center is the urban-type settlement Zubova Polyana .
Geography
The district is located in the west of the republic, in the zone of coniferous-deciduous forests. The area of the district is 2710 km² (the largest region in the Republic of Mordovia ). A section of the federal highway M5 “ Moscow - Chelyabinsk ” (from Ryazan to the Penza region) passes through the territory of the district.
History
The first mention of the village of Zubov Polyana dates back to 1679 . The district was formed on July 16, 1928 .
Until 1923, Zubova Polyana and the settlements now included in the Zubovo-Polyansky district were part of the Spassky district of the Tambov province, from 1923 to 1928, Zubova Polyana belonged to the Penza province, from 1928 - in the Mordovian district of the Middle Volga region (since 1929 - Middle Volga Region), since 1930 - in the Mordovian Autonomous Region of the Middle Volga Region, since December 20, 1934 - in the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (MASSR).
Zubovo-Polyansky district was created on July 16, 1928. In 1963, the Zubovo-Polyansky district was abolished, and the Zubovo-Polyansky industrial region was formed, which, in turn, was abolished in 1965 with the simultaneous creation of the Zubovo-Polyansky district again. Since December 1990, the district has been a part of the Mordovian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR), and since March 1991, it has been a part of the Republic of Mordovia (RM).

The Zubovo-Polyansky district as an administrative-territorial unit includes 4 workers' villages ( urban settlements ) and 23 village councils [12] . Village councils of the same name formed within their borders rural settlements, and workers' settlements - urban settlements.
The municipal district includes 27 municipalities , including 4 urban settlements and 23 rural settlements [13] [14] .

The Law of the Republic of Mordovia dated May 25, 2012 No. 36-З, the Podlyasovo rural settlement and the village council of the same name were abolished, and the settlements included in them were included in the Wadovo-Selishchinsky rural settlement and village council with the administrative center in the village of Vadovsky Selishchi [15] .
By the law of May 17, 2018 N 40-З, the Studenetsk rural settlement and the village council of the same name were abolished, and the settlements included in their composition were included in the Anaevsky rural settlement and village council with an administrative center in the village of Anaevo, as well as the same Izvestkovsky law and Svezhenskoe rural settlements with the same name and their village councils were abolished, and entered into their settlements (village of Lime and the village station straight from the tin ) were included in the Wyszynski rural settlement and the village council with the administrations ivnym center in the village Witzlaus [16] .

- Abolished settlements
On November 28, 2005, the village of Vasilyevka of the Kargashinsky Village Council was excluded from the accounting data [17] .
On September 13, 2007, the Crimean-Groz villages of the Anaevsky village council, Belyaevka of the Achadovsky village council, the Anaevsky forest plot of the Vadovo-Selishchinsky village council, and the village of Peschanka, Mordovsko-Polyansky village council, were excluded from the account [18] .
In 2008, the village Koprn-Sanyf was excluded from the credentials of the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Mordovia [19] .
Economics
In the Zubovo-Polyansky district, not only the agricultural, but also the industrial sectors are developed. Since most of the region is occupied by forests, in different years several woodworking enterprises and furniture factories were created here. The oldest industrial enterprise of modern Mordovia is located on the territory of the district - the Shiringushsky Cloth Factory (now almost completely destroyed).
In 2008, the volume of shipped goods of own production 0.88 billion rubles.
In the district there is a plant of JSC Radiodetal, the Potmynsky factory of non-standard equipment, a number of woodworking and furniture enterprises, textile factories, a bakery, a creamery and other enterprises.
In the district there are a number of institutions of the penitentiary system of the Federal Penitentiary Service (formerly Dubravlag , Temlag ), which began in 1929-1932.
