The main enterprise of the village - Voloshsky pulp mill - was launched in 1939. [6] .
In 1938, the government of the RSFSR decided to build a "special plant No. 5 GULAG NKVD" for the production of special cellulose used in the defense industry. [7]
Plant products - CA pulp is used in the defense industry in the manufacture of gunpowder ). There are no treatment facilities at the plant, as a result of which it is a serious polluter of the Voloshki River. In this regard, Rosprirodnadzor in 2005 announced the requirement to close the plant [8] .
In 1988, the USSR Council of Ministers ordered the plant to be redesigned due to a decrease in demand for its products, as well as a large physical and moral depreciation of fixed assets. On the industrial site of the plant was to begin construction of a workshop for the production of chipboards with their processing into panel parts for the furniture industry. The equipment of the German company Bizon-Werke and the building structures of the main building were supplied, a zero cycle was completed for the building. Since 1992, funding from the federal budget has ceased, and construction has been mothballed. The equipment, which had been lying for 10 years in an open storage warehouse, was sold in 2002 to a profile plant in another region [9] .
