Career
Twin brother of Robin Lopez , who plays for the Chicago Bulls basketball club. At the student level, Brooke, along with his brother, played for the Stanford Cardinal team for two years. In 2008, he was selected in the NBA draft in the first round under the overall 10th number by the New Jersey Nets team. According to the results of the debut season, he was included in the first NBA rookie team [1] .
On June 22, 2017, after 9 seasons at the Nets, he was exchanged with the rights to Kyle Kuzma (27th pick in the 2017 draft) at the Los Angeles Lakers for D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov . The Lakers played 72 matches in the regular season, gaining 13.0 points in 23.4 minutes.
July 17, 2018 signed a contract with Milwaukee Bucks . He made his debut for the Bucks on October 17, 2018 - 14 points in a winning match against Charlotte Hornets . On November 11, 2018, he threw a record three-point career in a match against Denver Nuggets.
If the first seasons in the NBA, Lopez played the “classic” center, focusing on the game under the ring - 51 double-doubles in the “points-picks” format for the first two seasons in the league, then starting from the 2016/17 season, Lopez gradually changed his skills to one of the main snipers throwing from behind the three-point line. For the first six seasons in the NBA, Lopez threw a total of only 7 three-pointer and never hit. Only in the 2014/15 season did he manage to realize his first three-pointer in his career (1 out of 10 per season). However, already in the 2016/17 season, Lopez threw an average of 5.2 three-pointers per match and scored 1.8 (34.6%). After moving to the Lakers in the 2017/18 season, the situation did not change, although Lopez began to play 6 minutes less - 4.4 three-pointers per match with an accuracy of 34.5%. At the same time, playing far from the ring, Lopez began to make much less rebounds, especially on someone else’s shield.
